Russ Salamon
During the past 30 years, Russ has endeavoured to explore the vast realm of photography by learning numerous techniques and processes. The study of light, its complex and subtle nature, and its profound effect upon the image, has led him to develop unique lighting techniques which give many of his commercial and fine art images a beauty and ambiance which set his work apart.
Disappointed with the prevalence of “soft box” lighting in the commercial photography world over the past several decades, Russ seeks to recapture the luminous lighting of the golden days of portrait and fine art photography.
From his boyhood years in rural Yugoslavia, Russ has an appreciation of rustic scenes and natural beauty. Much of his personal work evokes a mood of rural simplicity.
As there is perhaps no end to the possibilities that photography holds as an artistic medium, Russ looks forward to further pursuits and discoveries in his field of application.
For the past 25 years, Russ has served the London, Woodstock, Tillsonburg, Ingersoll and Aylmer area of Southwestern Ontario providing professional photography that has delivered results and image enhancement for local businesses.
He also enjoys giving presentations at local camera clubs where he shares the light painting techniques he has developed.
